Room Field €200: Pembroke Natura2000 Site Advert Raises Concerns

An advert to rent out a room in Pembroke Natura2000 was reported to the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) by the Malta Ranger Unit (MRU).

The rangers reported to the police back in July that “a person had placed a large caravan illegally at the pristine coastline,” the MRU stated.

They later discovered that the same individual had posted an advert to rent out the room at the same site.

“The MRU has asked the Malta Tourism Authority to immediately investigate this matter and to ensure that this site does not become a short-let area, which would quickly deteriorate the site,” the MRU continued.

The listing was taken down shortly after the MRU’s post on Facebook.

The rangers are encouraging the public to contact them if cars are seen driving into the site (except for AFM vehicles).

MRU Rangers can be contacted via WhatsApp on 79378118.
