The officer who’s currently being investigated on suspicions of leaking sensitive information and testing positive for cocaine, has been identified as the son of an ex-police commissioner.

Kurt Rizzo, the Special Intervention Unit (SIU) officer has been suspended from his duties following the aforementioned findings.

Recent revelations by MaltaToday uncovered that the accused is in fact the son of former police commissioner John Rizzo as well as the brother of a magistrate.

Rizzo is currently on police bail while further investigations are being conducted into the case.
