Swiss Woman Dies After Diving In Dwejra

A 44-year-old woman from Switzerland lost her life after diving in Dwejra earlier this morning.

At around 10.20 am, Police were called for assistance in Dwejra Bay in San Lawrenz, Gozo.

Police immediately went to the location, along with a medical team from the Gozo General Hospital.

There they found the diver lying on the ground, after she had been dragged out of the water by some people who had been with her that morning. Despite the medical assistance, the woman sadly died just some time later on the spot.

The Police are currently looking into the matter, while an inquiry headed by Magistrate Simone Grech has been launched.
