A 22-year-old Syrian man that fell five storeys on a construction site has died this morning after fighting for his life over the past two weeks.

The youth, who lived in Birkirkara, tragically fell down a lift shaft while working on a construction site in Triq il-Madonna tal-Ġebla, Gżira, on the 14th of December.

He was found in an unconscious state at the bottom of the lift shaft, and the Civil Protection Department had to be called in to retrieve his body. He was found to have serious injuries and was taken for medical assistance; however, he has now succumbed to his injuries.

The 22-year-old's death comes soon after the death of another young Syrian construction worker, 26-year-old Akram Almshay, who was left dangling off of a seven storey building in Sliema before falling to his death.

What do you think of these construction deaths?
