Teachers’ Strike Remains On As Parents Still In Limbo On What To Do

Further to yesterday’s update, the teacher’s strike on Monday 27th November is still taking place.

During a press conference, the Minister for Education Clifton Grima asserted that children can still go to school on Monday.

However, no classes will take place and the children will be supervised and excused for that one day. He also confirmed that schools will open their doors during their opening hours and that the popular Breakfast Club and Klabb 3-16 services will not be available.

Church school parents received a notice from the Secretariat for Catholic Education confirming that the strike would impact the children.

They have reiterated that schools will be open and offer supervision, however, they have asked parents not to send their children to school “with a strong sense of responsibility towards our students and their health and safety”, leaving parents high and dry with alternatives.

To make matters worse, school transport will not be operating either.

Will you be affected by this strike?
