‘This Is Where It All Starts’: MSPCA Share Heartbreaking Snap Of Abandoned Pit Bull
As Malta’s abandoned animal situation continues to be exacerbated each week, the MSPCA shared a heartbreaking image of a young abandoned pit bull found locally.
“To the people in high places – this is where it all starts. A forgotten pit bull in his infancy. No consideration for an innocent life, breeding for money and inflicting pain and suffering with no consequences and no penalties,” MSPCA said strongly.
“Please look at the harsh realities we are faced with on a daily basis.”
Animal activists have long been calling for urgent action to take place in regards to Malta stray and abandoned population, with volunteers and sanctuaries pushed to breaking point attempting to cover all cases.
They’ve urged stronger action against those found to be breeding dogs to be sold; oftentimes, unwanted puppies are then abandoned by the person who bred them if they aren’t bought or sold off in time.
“Now is your time to take action. Let’s not look back with regret and suffer the consequences – once again, to the people in high places, please stop missing the point. It’s time to tackle the source of the issue.”
