Thousands Take Part In 22km Walk While Siggiewi Puts On Stunning Candle Lit Display: Holy Week Commemorations Kick Off Around Malta

A predominately Roman Catholic country, Holy Week in Malta is revered and respected beyond traditional lenten sweets.

All around Malta fantastic images and videos have been surfacing of some the commemorations and processions around the islands.

In Msida, a floating cross was placed into the sea.

Siggiewi has put on a stunning candle lit display in its town centre.

Meanwhile, thousands of people took part in a 22km walk from Mellieha to the Granaries in Floriana in aid of Puttinu Cares.

Kicking off at just past midnight this morning, Participants made their way across Malta to reach Senglea, one of the Three Cities, before heading towards their final destination.
