Three Armed Robbers Tie Up Man And Steal Money From Birkirkara Garage
Three armed robbers barged into a garage in Birkirkara, tying up the 53-year-old man inside and stealing a considerable amount of cash, police said in a statement.
At around 7am, police were informed that a robbery had taken place in Triq Karm Żerafa, Birkirkara.
Birkirkara district police and the Rapid Intervention Unit (RIU) went to the scene and first investigations revealed that three men armed with firearms entered a garage, which a 53-year-old man was inside at the time.
The assailants apparently tied his hands, stole a great amount of cash and fled from the spot.
A medical team was called to the scene to help the victim because he was suffering from shock.
Police are searching for the thieves, while the investigation is being conducted by the district police and the Major Crimes Department.
Magistrate Astrid May Grima was informed of the case and has appointed an inquiry.
