Three Hospitalised After Foreign Driver Drove In The Wrong Direction In Marsa

A Serbian driver who was driving in the wrong direction in Marsa crashed head-on into another car, causing three of the four people involved in the crash to be hospitalised.

One woman is currently in a critical condition at Mater Dei after the two cars collided at around 12:40am on Aldo Moro Road. 

It is being reported by TVM that the woman and her husband had just returned from a holiday abroad. She was a 49-year-old resident of Swieqi who was being driven by her husband, also from Swieqi, who was grievously injured as well.

A 43-year-old woman was also in the car with the 27-year-old Serbian driver. She was also grievously injured.

The Serbian driver sustained no injuries.

A Civil Protection unit was sent in to assist in the wreckage – both cars, a Toyota Aygo and Renault Megane, were damaged extensively. A medical team were also on site and Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera is conducting the inquiry.
