Three-Year-Old Selah Begins Receiving Medical Treatment At Mater Dei Hospital
Selah, the three-year-old Palestinian girl who arrived in Malta earlier today after surviving devastating Israeli airstrikes in Gaza, has begun receiving medical treatment at Mater Dei hospital.
This afternoon, a sizeable crowd gathered at Malta’s airport to welcome the little girl. It was a deeply emotional scene as people awaited the arrival of the girl and her father, many holding flowers, balloons, and Palestinian flags in anticipation.
Selah tragically lost her mother and brother in the ongoing military campaign, leaving her in need of urgent surgery in Gaza. Through the power of social media, she was able to reunite with her father. Now, thanks to generous donations and the collaborative efforts of the embassy and the Maltese government, the girl is currently receiving medical care.
“Selah is an icon, she is our hope, a witness,” Malta’s Palestinian Ambassador @fadi_hanania said, expressing gratitude to all those involved in facilitating this journey while also highlighting the plight of the tens of thousands of casualties still in Gaza.
We wish Selah a speedy recovery.
