Trapped Swimmers Rescued From Ġnejna Bay Cave In Evening Operation
Two swimmers had to be rescued from a popular cave close to Ġnejna Bay yesterday evening after they found themselves in difficulty while swimming.
In a post last night sharing a number of photos from the scene, Civil Protection Malta said the operation was launched when a call was made about the swimmers requiring “immediate attention” at Ta’ Marija Cave.
“Rescues from station 3, 5 & 6 respectively were dispatched and together with the assistance of the Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) managed to rescue the two casualties,” the CPD said.
Going on to thank The Malta Police Force, the Armed Forces of Malta and the Mater Dei Emergency Department for their assistance, the CPD went on to remain people that they are there to save and protect.
