Tributes are pouring in after the death of Maria Muscat, the woman behind the iconic ‘Ta’ Marija’ restaurant, who is being hailed as “one of the pioneers for authentic Maltese cuisine”.

The award-winning family-run restaurant in Mosta is synonymous with a proper Maltese experience, including folk dinner shows, and dishes that combine traditional local food with a modern twist.

Maria’s family are also the faces behind other popular restaurants in Malta like La Buona Trattoria Del Nonno and Palazzo Pescatore.
