Trid Rikba? Bolt Rolls Out New Maltese-Speaking Cab Ride Option

If you’ve ever found yourself in a cab wishing you could speak Maltese to your driver, then Bolt just rolled out the ride option you’ve been waiting for.

Since the WhatsApp screenshot began circulating online last night, however, reactions have been mixed, from people hailing it as an incredibly good idea to others warning it “implies discrimination”, or at the very least implicates a “particular attitude” towards non-Maltese drivers. Others still were skeptical this was even a real announcement.
Today, however, the Rikba option has appeared on the Bolt app, with the option’s price sitting just under a regular Bolt ride option.

Will you be making use of Bolt’s new ride option? What do you make of Rikba?
