Tunisian Man Arrested In Mellieħa Wreaks Havoc In Lock-Up Cell

A Tunisian man under arrest acted in a very bizarre and aggressive manner last night after acting violently in Mellieħa. At around 11:00pm, the Tunisian man who was under arrest at the General Police Quarters lock-up had to be taken to Mater Dei Hospital.

Police said that the man was banging his head on the cell door and made several damages to the cell itself. The policemen who were stationed at the lock-up tried to stop his violent behaviour and an ambulance had to be called to give him the medical assistance needed.

He was taken to Mater Dei where he kept on being aggressive — even causing harm to the Police Sergeant who escorted him to hospital.
