Two 75-Year-Old Women Hospitalised Following Bedroom Fire In Żurrieq

A fire that broke out in a Żurrieq residence yesterday evening resulted in two 75-year-old women being hospitalised, the Malta Police Force has confirmed.

The incident happened at about 6pm yesterday, when police were called to a house in Triq Santa Katerina. Members of the Civil Protection Department and a medical team also joined the operation when a fire was discovered in one of the house’s bedrooms.

Two 75-year-old women who appeared to have been injured as a result of burns and the smoke were immediately taken to Mater Dei hospital.

One of the women has been certified to be suffering from grevious injuries, while the other appears to not have sustained any injuries.

A police investigation on the whole incident is currently underway.
