Waking up for a breakfast show that starts at 6:30am sounds brutal, but doing that knowing you’re gonna be on-air till 10:00am the next day is just plain mad.

But for Ylenia and Daniel from 89.7 Bay this is a challenge they’re facing right now, all in aid of Terry Time.

The concept is simple: together with extra special guests (from Ben Camille to YouTube sensation Charlene) the pair will be entertaining audiences for just shy of 28 hours straight in the hopes of rallying donations from across the island.

Working together since 2017, this is Daniel and Ylenia’s first charity marathon together, so they’ve made sure to stock up on caffeine and friends to help them out.

Throughout the day expect to be treated to visits from Red Elektrik, The Travellers, Brooke, Nicole Frendo, All About Charlene, Ben Camille and even Alex Alden.

We hope the pair had a quiet Valentine’s – cos they’re sure going to have to do a lot of talking today.

Terry Time is a fundraising website set up to raise money for Terry, a veteran radio host and the head of Vibe FM. Since 2016 he has been battling cancer, but as more unfortunate diagnoses roll in, his family have now to raise funds for potential treatment in the US.

Naming the page Terry Time, the same name of his show way back in the early 90s on Island Sound Radio (a serious throwback for those who were around back then), the website explains his current condition and appeals to anyone who can to donate to the cause.

For more information on the event, you can check out their page on Facebook.
