Two Teenage Girls And Young Boy Among Seven People Hospitalised After Head-On Crash On Marsa-Ħamrun Bypass

Four children were among the seven injured in a severe road incident that happened on the Marsa-?amrun bypass yesterday afternoon.

The incident involved a wine Renault which ended up in the wrong lane and crashed head-on with a white BMW.

The BMW was being driven by a 42-year-old man and was also carrying a 40 year-old-woman and a seven-year-old boy. The Renault was driven by a 38-year-old woman who needed Civil Protection Department expertise to be taken out of the car, but was also carrying three 14-year-old girls.

Everyone involved in the crash was rushed to Mater Dei, with two of the teenagers and the 38-year-old woman suffering from serious injuries. The three people in the BMW only suffered slight injuries.

Magistrate Marse-Ann Farrugia is leading an inquiry into the incident.
