University of Malta Prepares For Testy KSU Elections After Old Rivalry Returns

The upcoming election for the University of Malta’s Student’s Council (KSU) is set to be a contested one as Pulse has thrown their (graduating) hats into the ring against current incumbents SDM.

The KSU election, which will be held on Thursday, 26th April, will place the two old rival student groups against each other. The KSU AGM, the historically rowdy meeting that has seen everything from mass walks outs to Olympic level shouting matches, will be held on Wednesday, 18th April.

Sources from both organisations said their most recent polls are putting the two organisations neck and neck. The contest may go down to the wire on the early morning of the 27th as University students wait with bated breath to see who their new council members are.

Pulse will be contesting the election for the first time since 2015. They announced their candidates earlier this week when they placed large countdown timers around the University campus. The group said they had undergone a top-down restructuring process, and were ready to be elected to KSU after being elected to multiple other students councils around Malta and Gozo.

PULSE put 11 candidates forward: 6 men and 5 women.
