Unplanned Power Cuts Disrupt Qormi Feast March

An unplanned power cut last night disrupted a band’s march in Qormi ahead of the Feast of St Sebastian.

A photo published by PN MP Jerome Caruana Cilia shows a pitch black street adorned with feast banners. Caruana Cilia said the band was meant to pass through that street and others last night but couldn’t because of a power cut.

He said the situation frustrated feast enthusiasts, who had taken time decorating the streets.

Summer has brought along with it the annual problem of power cuts. Besides Qormi, other localities – including Gozo, Mellieħa, and Ħamrun – were hit with blackouts yesterday alone.
