UPDATED: Air Malta Confirm 12 Hour Delay For Gatwick Passengers Following ‘Extraordinary Circumstances’
Air Malta passengers stranded at Gatwick airport have received confirmation that flight KM117, originally planned to leave London at 11.50am this morning, will be leaving at 1am tomorrow morning.
Passengers have been left stranded at Gatwick after unidentified drones were spotted over the runway, leading to flights being suspended over night and throughout today.

Due to extraordinary circumstances KM117 will operate tonight at 0100hrs (21DEC). To avoid unnecessary delays customers are invited to check-in at the airport asap to collect their boarding card, alternatively tonight from 3hrs prior rescheduled departure time. https://t.co/9wwZQbwx7T

Earlier this morning, Lovin Malta spoke to several Maltese people who were at Gatwick. They described scenes of commotion as passengers showed up at Gatwick to board flights.
In a tweet, Air Malta has now advised passengers that the flight will be leaving Gatwick at 1am tomorrow morning.
It also invited the passengers to check in at the airport as soon as possible to collect their boarding card, and that check in would be opening at 10pm tonight.
