Valletta Cruise Port Rated World’s Most Beautiful

Forget waiting for the buffet to open. The real thrill of a cruise is that first glimpse of land after days at sea. And if you are sailing into Valletta you are in for the best view on the planet.
A global eye-tracking study by AllClear Travel Insurance has crowned Valletta Cruise Port in Malta as the most beautiful cruise arrival in the world with a perfect 100/100 score.
Researchers measured how quickly ports caught travellers’ eyes and how long they held attention. Valletta came out on top thanks to its golden limestone fortifications the Grand Harbour and 16th century bastions that make even seasoned sailors stop and stare.
Second place goes to Ushuaia in Argentina scoring 86/100. Known as the “End of the World” this southernmost port is the launch point for Antarctic adventures. In third is Palermo in Italy with an 83/100 score where Arab-Norman architecture meets dazzling views of the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Europe dominated the rankings with more than half of the top 20 scattered across the continent. From the dramatic fjords of Geiranger in Norway to the sun-soaked streets of Lisbon these ports prove that the journey really can be as beautiful as the destination. Other standouts include the turquoise waters of Nassau in the Bahamas, the classic Caribbean vibe of Aruba, and the picture-perfect harbours of Dubrovnik and Kotor.
So next time you are planning a cruise think beyond the on-board cocktails. Valletta and its rivals are a reminder that the best part of the trip might be the moment you first see land.
