The national New Year’s Eve celebrations will return to St. George Square in Valletta after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The festivities will begin at 10pm and will last until the early hours of New Year’s Day.

Kurt Calleja and Band will open the festivities, followed by The Brass House Unit led by Kevin Abela, and an outstanding lineup of some of Malta’s top singers, including Aidan Drakard, Amanda Marie, Brooke, Gloriana Arpa Belli, Jasmine, Kevin Paul Calleja, Ludwig Galea, Owen Luellen, Ozzy Lino, Pawlu Borg Bonaci, and Tiziana Calleja.

They will take the audience on a musical journey that will include the best hits of 2022 as well as some all-time classics.

The Brass House Unit, along with DJ Debrii, will entertain the crowd in Valletta and those watching the celebrations on local TV stations from the comfort of their homes with an exceptional up-tempo orchestral and electronic fusion performance featuring a mash-up of the best dance anthems of 2022, as well as special effects on stage and fireworks to welcome the New Year.

Finally, DJ Drey will round out the night with a groovy and upbeat set.

The event will be hosted by Ron, Taryn Mamo Cefai, Claire Agius Ordway, and Clint Bajada.

“These last two years, we could not celebrate New Year’s Eve as usual due to the pandemic. But finally, the Maltese and Gozitans can once again enjoy this wonderful event which is so important,” Arts Minister Owen Bonnici told a press conference.

The National New Year’s Eve Celebrations 2023 is organised by G7 Events, and is supported by a Partnership Agreement with the Valletta Cultural Agency within the Ministry for National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government.
