Throughout the year 2022, Valletta’s OFM Soup Kitchen, which operates exclusively on donations, served meals to a whopping 30,450 guests.

62% of that figure were males, while 220 of those served were children. 

The main localities which guests originated from were Valletta, Floriana, Marsa, Qormi, Żebbuġ, Pieta, Msida, Ħamrun, Bormla, Ħal Kirkop, St Paul’s Bay, Gżira, Luqa, Birkirkara and Raħal Ġdid.

The number of lunches served was 91,350, while 27,000 suppers were served as packed lunches.

Around €710,000 was approximately spent to serve all of these dishes, which originated from the nation’s donations.

But all this wouldn’t have been made possible without all of the volunteers, companies, and individuals that aided in the operation of the kitchen.

“As you can see, at the Soup Kitchen OFM Valletta, we experience a daily miracle of providence. Without the army of volunteers and the support of the donors, all this would not have been possible,” it said.

“Because of this, we would like to thank them and urge them to keep supporting us in our work so that we can provide our guests, a life with dignity.”
