VisitMalta Wins Gold At US Travel Awards For Second Year In A Row
Malta has scored big once again on the international travel stage. VisitMalta’s Digital Unit has won a Gold 2025 Award at the Travel Weekly Magellan Awards, and it’s the second year in a row that Malta’s national tourism brand has taken home the top prize.
The Travel Weekly Magellan Awards, held in the United States, are one of the leading global recognitions in the travel industry, celebrating excellence in destinations, marketing campaigns, hospitality, and more.
This year, VisitMalta’s win came through its “Explore More ___” video branding and advertising campaign, which brought together all that the Maltese Islands have to offer under one cohesive creative concept.
VisitMalta also picked up another award in collaboration with TravelZoo for the “Best Bets 2025” campaign, which featured Malta as one of nine key global destinations promoted by the international travel publisher.
Congratulating the MTA Digital Marketing team, Carlo Micallef, CEO of the Malta Tourism Authority, said:
“This recognition reinforces our strategy in attracting high-quality travellers from the North American market through finely focused marketing, achieving the best utilisation of flight connectivity to Malta.”
The Magellan Awards are not open to public voting, instead, entries are judged by a panel of top travel professionals and industry leaders. Winning one is considered a mark of quality and innovation recognised across the travel sector.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism Ian Borg praised the achievement, adding:
“These awards are a testament to our continued commitment to showcase the Maltese Islands as a leading destination on the global tourism stage.”
With its latest win, VisitMalta continues to position Malta as a world-class travel destination, reinforcing its growing visibility and reputation across the North American market.
