The Malta Police Force are currently looking for a 24-year-old man connected to last Thursday’s hold-up in a jewellery store in Tignè Point.

The young man, Ramazan Hysa, is in possession of an Albanian passport, and the Police are appealing for anyone who has any information to step forward.

Anyone wishing to stay anonymous can also do so, the Police said, and people can contact them on 119, 21 22 40 01 or the Sliema Police Station directly on 22 94 33 51.

The Police Force are taking various precautions to make sure the suspects do not flee the country, tvm.com.mt reported.

During Thursday’s hold-up, one of the salesmen was hit by a shot from a baton gun, while another man was hit by a hard object on his head. The thieves fled the scene from the Tignè Point carpark, and the abandoned getaway vehicle – a white Suzuki Alto – was found later in the Stella Maris Gżira area.

“Two people ran in the shop with wigs and masks or facepaint in the morning when the shop opened (approximately 9am),” an eyewitness told Lovin Malta.  “They started shooting at the showcases and put two male staff on the floor. They were talking in English, and the accent felt like Eastern European English. With an axe, they broke another showcase.”

Share this post and please step forward and contact the Police should you have any additional information on the case and this person.
