WATCH: Abandoned 1980s Hotel In Qawra Casually Catches Fire, And No-One Really Cares

An abandoned hotel caught on fire earlier this week, and it seemed no-one really noticed or minded.

Dark smoke was seen emerging from the broken-down building, which was originally named the Palm Court Hotel. The hotel had opened in 1981 and was popular among many British tourists back in the day.

A video uploaded onto Facebook showing the smoke emerging from the building only elicited comments indicating people’s disregard for the building. Some people even speculated that the fire may have been started to get rid of the building faster, to make way for new buildings.

“Probably the whole point of the fire. My guess was there was a legal issue keeping them from knocking it down and that’s probably not there anymore now,” some one online commentator.
