From a simple idea to Malta’s leading student platform, FreeHour is a testament to Zach Ciappara’s vision and perseverance.

During the interview with Meetinc., CEO and Founder Zach shared FreeHour’s inspiring journey.

He recounted the early days of FreeHour which started as a simple idea during his time at Junior College and spoke candidly about the challenges he faced.

“It’s a lot of deal with at 23,” Zach admitted as he described the learning experienced that came with managing a team and scaling a business.

A key factor in FreeHour’s success has been its ability to connect deeply with its audience as Zach perfectly described it, “Attention is our biggest currency.”

“We use people to humanise the brand, allowing us to be really close with our followers,” he added.

Zach also discussed the reforms which are needed to enhance Malta’s educational system highlighting the need for financial literacy and entrepreneurship.

Over the past five years, FreeHour has evolved from a timetable app to a comprehensive media platform.

Today, FreeHour employs 15 people and collaborates with some of Malta’s biggest clients, leveraging its strong social media presence and high engagement rates
