Watch: BCRS Is Hosting A Nationwide Contest For Kids To Name Its New Mascot

BCRS Malta’s adorable new mascot has hit the streets to help raise awareness for recycling, but now they need YOUR help.
The little green BCRS machine character was unveiled last week on 22nd November, where the character was introduced by being asked what their ambitions are for helping the country’s environment.
However, when asked what their name is, it was uncovered that the character doesn’t have one… or maybe not yet.
Primary and Secondary school students from all over Malta are encouraged to come up with a fitting and creative name for this environmental hero, with just a few simple conditions:
- The catchy name must reflect the mascot’s role as a reverse vending machine that helps recycle beverage containers.
- A short explanation of not more than 50 words should accompany the entry, explaining why that particular name was chosen.
- Kids are encouraged to flourish creatively and include a sketch or colourful design of the mascot to accompany the chosen name.
- A motivational tagline/catchphrase should also be included with the design to encourage others to follow in the mascot’s footsteps and recycle.
Entries for the competition can be made individually by scanning the QR code on the poster, or schools can choose to collect and email their students’ submissions to [email protected].
The competition will be running until 19th December and shortly after, the winning name will be announced.
What name would you give this green-thumbed mascot?
