Watch: Immigration Police Carry Out Multiple Deportations Across Malta
After weeks of coordinated work by the Immigration Police, three individuals who in recent months had been arrested for breaking the law were removed from our country in three separate return operations.
These individuals were held in a detention centre after serving effective prison sentences, having been found guilty of living a vagrant lifestyle and engaging in aggressive begging in various areas across the country.
All of these individuals were sent back to their countries of origin in North Africa, West Africa, and a country in Eastern Europe.
This operation followed another enforcement action in Burmarrad, during which twelve people were arrested from several public buses for being in the country illegally.
The Police will continue working to identify, arrest, and remove individuals who are in the country without legal status.
This is being carried out through the relentless work of the Police, assisted by other entities, including the Detention Services Agency, Identity Malta, and Jobsplus.
