Watch: Is-Saħħa Lill-Maltin – Labour Party Launches New Slogan Ahead Of Elections

The Labour Party just launched its new slogan for the upcoming Local Council and MEP elections: is-Saħħa lill-Maltin.
Prime Minister Robert Abela announced this earlier today as he was closing PL’s general conference.
The launch was accompanied by a video of a man spray painting a host of different words like students, Gozitans, positivity and security stenciled over the slogan.
During this conference, Abela further promised that Gozo will become the new model for sustainable development in the Maltese islands.
Abela implied that the theme had been derived from a series of town hall meetings where party officials heard pressing concerns from citizens from all walks of life. One of such meetings happened over the weekend in Gozo where he explained that economic growth cannot come at the expense of the sister island’s unique identity.
This announcement comes following years of criticism of the state of overdevelopment on Gozo. The issue even garnered international attention after it was announced that one of the last remaining boat houses in Xlendi was going to be demolished to become a five-storey apartment, in a town that has become overridden by such buildings.
However, Abela stated that as an island of villages, Gozo cannot forget the things that made it what it is today.
“This is foundational and is the only way development can make sense. Gozo is going to be the model for new and sustainable development in our country,” he promised.
Do you believe Abela’s promise?
