Watch: It’s Coming – Rumbling Thunder And Heavy Rain Hits Gozo Ahead Of Storm Forecast
Gozo has been hit with heavy rain and thunder, with the storm particularly affecting the area around Żebbuġ.
According to the Malta International Airport, an unstable airmass currently covers the central Mediterranean, bringing thunderstorms to the region.
Local weather page Aġġornament tat-Temp reported that the storm is primarily centred around Gozo, leading to a noticeable drop in temperatures and frequent lightning.

In fact, temperatures at the moment are at 31°C, a much lower one that the recently recorded high temperatures.
The page also warned of a high chance of hail in the area.
While Malta won’t face the same severe conditions as Spain and Sicily, which were recently battered by storms, the island is still expected to experience heavy rainfall throughout the day.
Earlier this morning, a waterspout was spotted off the coast of Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq, as the Mediterranean continues to endure severe weather over the past month.
