Watch: LESA Official Filmed Making Risky U-Turn While Driving In Rabat
A LESA official was filmed executing a risky U-turn in Rabat this morning, briefly driving into the wrong lane to quickly get around a traffic island.
In the footage, the LESA official can be seen stopping at a Stop sign by a traffic island, checking for oncoming traffic and then driving to the right and back around the traffic island.
While the manoeuvre certainly saved the official some time, it also goes against national traffic laws. In fact, drivers who fail to comply with a traffic mandatory direction sign are at risk of losing three penalty points.
A man who sent the footage told Lovin Malta he finds the LESA official’s actions “very unfair and hypocritical”.
“They think they can do as they please on the roads,” he said. “They did not have any beacons/lights switched on so they don’t have an excuse. They should be exemplary and show us how to drive, not how not to drive.”
Have you ever seen a LESA official breaching traffic rules?
