Local activist group Occupy Justice today filed an official report calling on the police to investigate the people involved in the 17 Black case.

Occupy Justice called on the police to question the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff Keith Schembri, Tourism Minister Konrad Mizzi and owner of the Dubai company 17 Black Yorgen Fenech.

The group gave a press conference outside the police depot where they addressed their concerns, adding that the allegations had been originally made by the slain journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.

Eight months before the journalist’s death, she had written about a mystery company set up in Dubai called 17 Black.

It was one of two companies listed as “target clients” of the Panama companies belonging to Mizzi and Schembri. Reuters and Times of Malta last week revealed the owner was Fenech, who is a co-owner of the new power station. According to an email by accountancy firm Nexia BT, 17 Black was to deposit around €150,000 per month into the Panamanian companies.
