Prime Minister Robert Abela expressed his pride in Labour Deputy leader Chris Fearne during a Mosta rally yesterday.
“Chris, the Labour Party is proud of you. Malta is proud of you,” Abela said.
Fearne recently resigned as deputy Prime Minister amid fraud charges related to the hospitals’ scandal but has decided to remain Labour’s deputy leader after Abela insisted that he reconsider his decision.
Abela commended Fearne’s lifelong commitment to serving Malta, noting his selfless dedication to the nation despite his personal job.
He then criticised Opposition leader Bernard Grech for characterising Fearne’s actions as damaging to the country, emphasising that individuals like Fearne should not be subject to such attacks.
“I must admit with you that this week was a very emotional one. I had moments, I must admit, even on a personal level, that I felt a lot of emotions,” the Prime Minister told the crowd.Two days ago,
