Watch: ‘Public May Park Freely’ Naxxar Mayor Chris Deguara Tells Residents
Naxxar’s newly appointed mayor Dr Chris Deguara has come out telling his residents to “park freely” on bays with no parking signs.
The no parking signs were put up recently by Malta Properties. And on their page they stated that the area is “privately owned by MPC” and is “not public land”. The company also went on to say that “we had discussions with the Naxxar Local Council and provided documentation that clearly shows the land is owned by MPC.”

That’s why mayor Chris Deguara took to YouTube to explain that “I can proudly say that the land is private but can be used by the public,” he commented on a video.
Since his video, Malta Properties have come out saying that “The Mayor states that no discussions were held between MPC and the Local Council as currently composed. MPC clarifies that discussions were held with the Local Council prior to the recent elections.”
