Watch: Ricky Caruana Hits Back After Criticism Over New PBS Debate Show

Media personality Ricky Caruana has responded to backlash following the Malta Women’s Lobby’s criticism of PBS for giving him a new debate show, accusing activists of carrying out what he described as a “systematic character assassination.”
In a social media post, Caruana said he’s been facing daily personal attacks despite not being politically affiliated.
“Never in Malta’s history has there been one person, unaffiliated with any political party and who doesn’t even vote, who has faced such systematic character assassination from every faction,” he wrote.
Caruana accused his critics of being driven by hate and of twisting his words, claiming that while they present themselves as open-minded, they’ve avoided debating him directly.
After the Malta Women’s Lobby issued its statement condemning PBS, Caruana went live online, saying that if the attacks continue, he might “end up voting Labour.”
“I don’t belong to any party, and I’ve never voted,” he said, adding that his goal is to encourage discussion, not division.
The Malta Women’s Lobby has expressed concern about Caruana’s past comments and tone on social media, arguing that PBS should uphold higher standards when choosing hosts for national discussions.
For now, Caruana remains defiant, saying he intends to keep doing what he does best, talking, debating, and stirring the conversation.
What do you think of this situation?
