Watch: Teens Under Fire For Vandalising Lift Door Near Valletta City Gate
Two teenagers were caught on camera setting fire to a sign on the lift door at City Gate.
Valletta Mayor Olaf McKay shared CCTV footage of the incident on Facebook, stating that an official report — including the video, which has been making the rounds on social media — had been submitted to the Valletta Police, describing it as a “clear case of vandalism and abuse in the lift at City Gate”.
“This behaviour is unacceptable,” McKay said, “It posed a serious danger that could have had severe consequences for families living in the block, including several elderly residents,” he continued.
McKay concluded his statement by urging continued efforts in the fight against vandalism across the island.
