WATCH: Video Emerges Of Woman Vandalising Caruana Galizia Memorial In Valletta
Footage of an act of vandalism on the makeshift memorial dedicated to the memory of murdered journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia has been released online.
An elderly woman wearing red is seen hitting over pots of flowers, candles, and even a large portrait of Ms Caruana Galizia in the video.
The incident, which occurred at the end of January, caused a commotion in the capital city, as police had to intervene to stop her.
The ex-secretary general of the Nationalist Party Paul Borg Olivier said he witnessed the woman himself, and that “the woman was getting very angry near the flowers and messages”, before hitting them to the ground.
The police confirmed that the woman had been reported to them, however a police spokesman had previously said that woman had fallen over, and in her fall, had hit the flowers and other items over.
The video has already received extreme reactions online, with some people condemning the woman, while others supported her actions.
