Where’s The Club? Zion Owners Explain Why Popular Marsascala Hangout Suddenly Disappeared From Face Of The Island
The owners of Zion Reggae Bar, a popular summer hangout in Marsascala known for its chill vibes and awesome events and menu, have killed rumours that the club might be closing down.
People who passed by the seaside location in the south of Malta found a desolate site where the fun club-restaurant is located, leading many to wonder if the place had closed down for good.
However, Maria Portelli, part of Zion’s management, has confirmed this was not the case.
“We are on-site at the moment, we’re doing a major refurbishment and Zion will be open in June,” she told Lovin Malta. “Rock The South and One Drop festival will still be happening in April though, so tell everyone to relax.”
She quashed the rumours that Zion might be closing down
“We would have said business closed down if so,” she laughed. “We’ve just closed like we always do in winter, but this year we planned for a huge refurbishment to give Zion a much deserved look.”
While the garden is still currently standing, the Zion of yore is now completely gone, and the majority of the area is set to be rebuilt and refurbished.
“We’re fixing until the area under the tent, and by the time of Rock The South [April] it would have been almost built,” she continued. “We’re working hard on it; we’ve have a good team.”
Maria’s been recieving messages of concerned Zion fans, so she wanted everyone to know their beloved hangout would be returning looking better than ever before.
“We know everyone loves Zion, so we just wanted to give it some good love,” she smiled.
