A woman has written an appeal for witnesses on Facebook after she claims a bus driver followed her off the bus, grabbed her by the neck and spat in her face.
Sacha Kinser, founder of the fashion blog ColourMeCashmere, reported the incident to the police, where she found out the bus’ on-board CCTV had apparently malfunctioned. According to Kinser the incident occurred after she “got angry” that the driver of bus 222 wouldn’t let her onto the bus because it was “full up”, despite one passenger having just walked off at her stop.
” To feel somebody else’s saliva all over your face is the most disgusting feeling you could imagine”
Lovin Malta has reached out to Malta Public Transport, who has said it is investigating the issue and cooperating with the police investigation in any way it can. They’ve stated clearly that they do not tolerate any abuse against passengers and they are running two separate investigations into the issue. One is into the accusation itself, while the other is into why the CCTV was not working.
To further their cooperation with the police, they have also passed on the known details of those who were on board to the police to aid their work.
