Woman Hospitalised After Getting Trapped In Car Due To Forklift Collision In Mqabba

A 38-year-old woman driving a car with minors inside was hospitalised yesterday after getting trapped inside a car after a collision with a forklift.

The incident occurred at around 6.15pm yesterday along Triq Il-Belt Valletta, Mqabba, police have confirmed.

The forklift was being driven by a 31-year-old man resident of Mqabba, and inside the woman’s car, who resides in Raħal Ġdid, there was also a 21-year-old Cuban man, and three boys aged seven, nine, and four. 

Members from the Civil Protection Department were called on site to assist, as well as police, and a medical team, which transported the woman to Mater Dei Hospital.

She was later certified to have suffered grievous injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing
