Woman Left Grievously Injured After Traditional Horse Races In Gozo
A 72-year-old woman from Victoria, Gozo, is suffering from grievous injuries after she was allegedly hit by a horse during the horse races which were taking place in Republic Street, Victoria, on Monday evening at about 8:00pm.
The woman was crossing the road during the races which were organised as part of the traditional festa.
Gozitan Police found the woman lying on the ground where she underwent emergency treatment. She was conveyed to the Gozo General Hospital for the injuries she sustained before being transferred to Mater Dei Hospital due to the grievous nature of her injuries.
This is not the first time something like this happened, with a 37-year-old woman getting injured in 2015 and a 69-year-old woman getting injured in 2011.
