‘You Just Need To Be Human’: Pro-Palestine Protest In Valletta Calls For End Of ‘Genocide And Hypocrisy’ In Gaza
Around 200 people attended a protest in Valletta on solidarity with Palestine this afternoon.
The square opposite Parliament was packed with Palestinian flags, signs of massacre and slogans to end Israel’s occupation and on-going offence.
“I don’t see an end to this unless the international community stands with us,” Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Malta Fadi Hanania told the gathered crowd. “Unless the European Union stands with us, stands with international law and tells Israel stop.”
“Stop the siege against Gaza. And end occupation! It’s about time after 75 years. For the humans, for the humanity inside you. 75 years of depression, of massacres, of killing. It’s about time for our young generations to leave in peace, to live in dignity.”
The Imam of the Paola mosque, Mohammed El Sadi, was present, even speaking to the crowd in Maltese. No politicians could be seen at the protest.

“This is a genocide, an extinction,” Moviment Graffitti spokesperson Andre Callus said. “Let’s call it what it is. And it’s complicit with the EU, Metsola and von der Leyen.”
“This hypocrisy must end. This will be there worst tragedy. Because Palestinians will continue to fight. If they didn’t they would be here. they would be erased from the face of the earth.”
“Open your eyes. We want peace, but we need justice.”
