A 25-year-old police officer was injured in a traffic accident involving his motorbike earlier today while on duty in Birkirkara.

At around 8:30am, a collision between a Toyota Vitz being driven by a 32-year-old woman and the traffic police officer’s motorbike led to an ambulance being called on the scene in Valley Road.

Upon arrival at Mater Dei hospital, the young officer was certified to be suffering from grievous injuries. A police investigation is still underway.
