‘Your Identity Will Always Be Corrupt’: Ħamrun Storeowner Finds Eight Strangers Registered On His Shop’s Address

Former PN MP and lawyer Jason Azzopardi took to social media again to uncover yet another unsettling story about the Identity Malta scandal.

Azzopardi recounted a conversation he had on the phone with a shop owner from Royal Street, Ħamrun, officially known as St Joseph High Street.

The shopkeeper, who has owned and operated his store for over 26 years, recently discovered a troubling irregularity concerning his property.

According to Azzopardi, the shop owner was shocked to learn that eight individuals, all of Asian origin, have their addresses registered at his shop without his knowledge or consent.

This revelation came to a surprise, particularly because the owner has not rented out his shop to anyone over the last two decades.

The shopkeeper, who has no previous connection to these individuals, has never seen or heard of these people before his discovery.

Azzopardi did not mince words in his criticism of Identity Malta, as he accused the organisation of being corrupt, stating, “Identity Malta corrupted. You may change your name, but your identity will remain CORRUPT.”

This incident is part of a broader issue that Azzopardi has been vocal about in recent months. He has previously called for a magisterial inquiry into what he describes as Malta’s largest corruption scandal, involving fraudulent identity cards.

The inquiry, if it proceeds without appeal, could potentially expose systemic corruption and mismanagement within Identity Malta.

Azzopardi continues to urge other citizens who have experienced similar issues to come forward, in the hope that a thorough investigation will lead to accountability and reform.
