Lorenzo Vella, Head Of EC Representation In Malta, Dies
Lorenzo Vella, the head of the European Commission Representation in Malta, has passed away.
Vella held a number of diplomatic roles throughout his career and was appointed to his current position last year.
Several people have paid tribute to Vella, including Prime Minister Robert Abela, who said he provided impeccable service to Malta and, in his youth, to the Labour Party.
Former PL MEP Cyrus Engerer described Vella as a mentor and a loyal friend.
“You were always the person I called for hours on the phone and you were always there to listen and guide. They say that only the good die young, and good is an understatement when it comes to you. You’ll remain in our hearts forever Lorenzo and your family will always be with us,” he said.
Lovin Malta sends its heartfelt condolences to Vella’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
