A visionary urban planning concept to reconnect Malta’s fragmented coastline has earned MA Architects a Special Commendation at the Malta Architecture and Spatial Planning (MASP) Awards 2024.

The project, titled Tul il-Kosta, proposes a continuous, pedestrian-friendly route encircling the Maltese Islands, transforming the coastline into a walkable, eco-conscious, and culturally connected public space.

Recognised in the Urban Planning Concept category, Tul il-Kosta aims to link Malta’s natural landscapes, historic landmarks, and urban waterfronts into one unified experience that prioritises the coastline as a national treasure for everyone to enjoy.

The Planning Authority described the concept as “a strategic vision” that reimagines Malta’s coast as both a public asset and an ecologically sensitive space.

Congrats to the team at MA Architects for this inspiring recognition
