Fidem Foundation is hosting its first-ever Mental Health Awareness Festival on Sunday 6th October at the Pembroke Tennis Club and Padel Malta courts.

This unique event aims to break the stigma around mental health and encourage people of all ages to prioritise their wellbeing through physical activity.

With a focus on the link between mental health and physical activity, Fidem Foundation’s founder, Dr Sabine Agius Cabourdin, highlights the importance of keeping both the mind and body healthy. “Mental wellbeing has always been central to Fidem’s mission,” she said. “While we empower women through education, we also take care of their mental health, which is often affected by life’s challenges.”

The festival will offer a variety of free sporting activities throughout the day, including yoga, zumba, and a legs & abs class. Attendees will also get the chance to try their hand at padel, pickleball, and tennis.

For those seeking a more intense workout, a spinning marathon will kick off at 10am, raising funds for Fidem Foundation’s ongoing initiatives.

The event will be hosted by David Ozi Borg, who has openly discussed his own mental health journey.

Other speakers include Dr Adele Muscat from the Institute for Physical Education and Sport, and Alison Bezzina, Commissioner for Animal Welfare, who will lead a Walk & Talk with dogs, joined by TV presenter Moira Delia. Live entertainment will be provided by Kevin Paul Calleja and Claudia Faniello, both of whom will also share personal messages about mental health.

Fidem’s professional therapists and coaches will be on-site to offer free counselling and support to anyone in need.

The event is completely free and open to people of all ages. Simply turn up in comfortable clothes and trainers, ready to move and smile. For those interested in trying padel, tennis, or pickleball, equipment will be available on-site.

Don’t miss this chance to focus on your mental and physical wellbeing while supporting a fantastic cause.
