Maksar Brothers And Associates Jailed For Life For Caruana Galizia And Chircop Murders

The Maksar brothers and their associates have been imprisoned for life after they were found guilty over their involvement in the murders of Daphne Caruana Galizia and Carmel Chircop.
Adrian Agius, his brother Robert Agius, Jamie Vella and George Degiorgio were all found guilty in a trial by jury last week. Judge Edwina Grima has now sentenced them to life in prison, noting the jury’s strong guilty verdict.
Adrian Agius had been found guilty of complicity in Chircop’s 2015 murder but his brother Robert Agius has been found not guilty.
However, Robert Agius was found guilty of complicity in the 2017 murder of Caruana Galizia.
Jamie Vella was found guilty of the murder of Chircop and complicity in the murder of Caruana Galizia.
George Degiorgio, who had already been found guilty of the murder of Caruana Galizia, was also been found guilty of Chircop’s murder.
Robert Agius and Jamie Vella have also been found guilty of possessing dangerous explosives.
