Maksar Brothers Found Guilty On Most Counts In Caruana Galizia And Chircop Murder Cases

A jury has found the Maksar brothers and their associates guilty on most counts of murdering Daphne Caruana Galizia and Carmel Chircop.

Adrian Agius has been found guilty of complicity in Chircop’s 2015 murder but his brother Robert Agius has been found not guilty.

However, Robert Agius was found guilty of complicity in the 2017 murder of Caruana Galizia.

Jamie Vella was found guilty of the murder of Chircop and complicity in the murder of Caruana Galizia.

George Degiorgio, who had already been found guilty of the murder of Caruana Galizia, has now also been found guilty of Chircop’s murder.

Robert Agius and Jamie Vella have also been found guilty of possessing dangerous explosives.

The next task is for Judge Edwina Grima to hand out their sentences.
